Somewhere in the Bible belt...

Faith rules supreme (h/t to Crooks and Liars)

Below the fold is the text and photo from an email message the "church member" who "keeps up" with the campaign may have used to "inform" the others. A well-meaning family member had sent this to me in order to alert me about Obama.

So, is this what the campaign could look like in the Fall of 2008? Has politics become so debased that Jeffersonian "informed citizenry" is impossible? What say you, dear readers?

Subject: Fw: A picture is worth a thousand words---PLEASE SEND AROUND TO ALL ...

I had heard about this but a picture is definitely worth 1000 words! God save us!!!

Obama in Iowa
Respect

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.
Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED NOT ONLY TO PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in heaven's name can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????
-----------------End forwarded email----------------------

In addition to the confused view of Obama, the video raises so many frightening prospects--religious war (most dangerously emanating from the U.S., right Doug?), the central role of Israel as a hand of God in perceived "end times", the anti-Arab/Muslim racist hot button. Are we doomed?
